Welcome to
Historic Wavertree
(continued)
5. Wavertree Congregational Church (1839), Hunters Lane
L15 8HL
A regular participant in the Heritage Open Days programme up until 2019. Read about its history here.
6. Royal School for the Blind (1898), Church Road North
L15 6TQ
Built on the site of Wavertree Hall. The old gates (which are not gates at all!) have a story to tell.
The School itself also has a fascinating past, and an inspiring present (and future)
7. Holy Trinity Church (1794), Church Road L15 9EE
Read about it on the national HODs website, and on the Church's own website.
The Church also features prominently on the LoveWavertree video, Some Wavertree Landmarks from Above.
8. Liverpool Blue Coat School (1906), Church Road L15 9EE
Details of the Blue Coat's ambitious 'virtual Heritage Open Days' programme for 2020 can be found on the School website
which also contains an article on the School's long history.
In addition, the School's Twitter account is being constantly refreshed during the HODs period. Follow @LiverpoolBCS for #ArchiveSpotlight updates and links to other resources such as the downloadable Heritage Brochure.
