NEWS FROM THE WAVERTREE SOCIETY (Jan. 2001)

Our next meeting:
An afternoon of WARTIME MEMORIES
on Sunday
14th January 2001,
in the Wavertree
Garden Suburb Institute,
Thingwall Road, Liverpool 15,
starting at 2 p.m.

It is a year since we held a very successful 'Memories of Wavertree' evening, when members, prospective members and friends of the Society were invited to show and talk about any memorabilia they cared to bring along. The main speaker on that occasion was our Committee Member Eddie Cameron, who entertained us with his recollections of Wavertree life in the years leading up to the Second World War. Eddie also happened to mention that he had some interesting (and amusing) 'D-Day' stories to tell - and this is the result. Come and listen to Eddie and - if you were around at the time! - bring your own memories of the wartime years, whether in Wavertree or elsewhere.
Please note that this meeting will take place on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON:
14th JANUARY
from 2 p.m. onwards.

ADMISSION FREE - ALL WELCOME

The D-Day Landings

The Evacuees
