Garden Suburb TASTE
The BBC has asked us to help with a 'major TV documentary series' - called Taste - about the history of architecture and design. The producers would like to feature Wavertree Garden Suburb, and are looking for houses furnished in either 'arts and crafts' style or (by way of contrast) '21st century' style. They want to speak to house-proud residents who would not object to their houses being featured - and also to speak to families who have lived in the area all their lives.
Anyone interested should contact Mike Chitty, who is in touch with the BBC's researcher.

Wavertree in PICTURES
We have been approached by a publisher with a view to compiling a 'Wavertree in Old Photographs' volume. Around 200 pictures are needed - which is many more than we currently have in our archives - and we would therefore like to hear from anyone who has old photographs or postcards of local scenes, buildings, events or people, which they would be willing to lend or have copied for this purpose.
Please contact our Local History Secretary, Mike Chitty, if you are able to help or know of anyone else who may have suitable pictures in their possession.

INFORMATION wanted
Does anyone remember JIMMY BAILLIE? He left Bartlett Street in 1946 (aged 19) to live in Leicester, and had a brother and sister. His son has recently e-mailed us asking for information.
Does anyone know about the PEERS family? They were resident in Wavertree in the 19th century (Rose Villas off Prince Alfred Road was apparently called Peers Lane at one time) and a descendant now living in Florida will be visiting Liverpool in June in search of more information.
Once again, please contact Mike Chitty if you can help with the above requests.
