Thirty Years in Liverpool -
A Picture Quiz
presented by Mike Chitty
Our New Year social event for 2004 is to be held at the 'Inny' in Thingwall Road, and takes the form of a slide show interspersed with questions about Liverpool buildings, streets, events and personalities. All of the pictures have been taken by Mike over the past 30 years, and many of them feature places which have since changed beyond all recognition. Come and see how much you remember about Liverpool's recent and not-so-recent history. For the purpose of the quiz we shall split the audience into teams of 4 - just a bit of fun, but with a prize on offer to the winning team.
Seasonal refreshments will also be available.

The History of Parks in Liverpool
by Colin Twist
Colin Twist used to work in Liverpool City Council's Parks Department. He has studied the history of the city's public open spaces - including those purpose built as 'parks for the people' by the Council, and those which originated as the landscaped grounds of private houses. Colin is an experienced speaker, with some excellent slides, and we can look forward to an entertaining and informative evening.
