VOLUNTEERS WANTED
1. A 'Friends of the Wavertree Rose Garden' group is being formed to look after the Rose Garden in the High Street, following its transformation as part of Wavertree in Bloom 2007. Anyone with an hour or two a month to spare is invited to contact Dave O'Brien (see below).
2. BBC Radio Merseyside is creating a sound archive in connection with the city's 800th birthday and Capital of Culture year. One story they would like to feature is that of Sandown Hall. Anyone with particular memories they would be willing to share is asked to contact our Local History Secretary, Mike Chitty, in the first instance.
3. The Liverpool Blue Coat School Foundation is launching a project to make the School's archives and artefacts more accessible. This includes the compilation of a computerised database of pupils' names, back to 1708 when the School was first established, which can be searched by people looking for information about their ancestors. If you are interested in helping with this project, please contact Mike Chitty.
