Members' Notice:
The 33rd Annual General Meeting
of the Wavertree Society will be held at 2 pm on Sunday 18th October 2009, in the Olive Mount Community Centre, Edgewell Drive, Liverpool L15.
Please make a note of this date in your diary. Following the annual reports and the election of a Committee for the coming year ('new blood' very welcome) Mike Chitty will give an illustrated talk on the updating of the book 'Discovering Historic Wavertree'.

A talk by Carole Codd
By popular request - it was 'standing room only' when she visited us last February - we have invited Carole Codd to come back and give us a further talk based on her experiences as Liverpool's Superintendent Registrar of births, marriages and deaths. After a long career at Brougham Terrace and, more recently, the Cotton Exchange, Carole has many more anecdotes with which to entertain us - including stories about some of the famous (and infamous) people who have been born or died here.
The Olive Mount Community Centre is situated on the ground floor of Monkswell Place, Edgewell Drive, Liverpool L15 8GG. Car access is from Thingwall Road via the mini-roundabout; and there is direct pedestrian access from Childwall Road. (Enter the building through the wooden gate by the yucca tree).
