The Calendar will be on sale - at £2.50 a copy, or £20 for ten, card envelopes 50p each if required - at our meeting on 25th November and the Farmers' Market on 5th December.

Mail orders to Sheilagh Birch, 338 Wavertree Nook Road, L15 7LJ: £4 including P&P, cheques payable to 'The Wavertree Society' please.

WAVERTREE'S OWN FARMERS' MARKET

An experimental Farmers' Market was held in Lake Road - between the Picton Clock and the Lock-up - on Saturday 29th August. We were invited to participate, and had a very successful morning selling our own 'produce' - mostly books and tea towels - and recruiting new members.

The organisers, Geraud Markets, have since been persuaded to hold the event on a regular basis: on the First Saturday of every month, between about 9am and 2pm. The next one will take place on SATURDAY 5th DECEMBER, and we shall once again be participating. Of course, there will also be a wide range of more-traditional market stalls.

We hope to see you there!
