The Cunard Yanks were the thousands of young men who staffed the transatlantic liners in the 1950s; for example as stewards, chefs, waiters, pantrymen and laundrymen. Four of them - Richie Barton, John Gilmour, Billy Harrison and John Hibbert - got together a few years ago to record their exploits at sea and on land during that momentous era, which saw the latest New York music, fashions and ideas imported into Liverpool. We shall be seeing the results, in the form of a film showing life on both sides of the Atlantic, and meeting some of the 'lads' themselves who will no doubt be happy to elaborate further on their adventures.
