"I lived in Albert Grove from 1941 to 1949, when we moved out to Speke. I remember the Dairy in Chesnut Grove, and used to enjoy going in and seeing the cows and especially the calves. I remember the hard winter of 1947 and how we sledged down the hill in Harper's Field with the frozen pond at the bottom. As it melted we lost interest in the hill, but if my memory serves me well one of the boys from our School (Our Lady of Good Help) drowned in the pond. The story goes that a raft was made and an attempt at sailing was taking place. Nobody I have contacted remembers who the boy was. Do you? I have been given a name but don't think it's correct, the person who gave it to me I think was getting mixed up with the boy who fell off the School roof and brought a coping stone down smashing his leg. I would also like to know his name. I wonder if you can help me."
