OLIVE MOUNT
SPORTS GROUND
On 10th April, some members of the Wavertree Society's Committee met with Mr Chris Chetwood who, as owner of the land, outlined his plans for transforming the former Manweb sports ground into a 'community based' centre for youth football. He has also agreed to meet a group of local residents to discuss their specific concerns, and we shall be reserving judgement on the scheme until we hear the outcome of that meeting.

A NEW LIFE
FOR THE LAMB
The former Lamb public-house - a landmark in Wavertree for over 150 years, with a name dating back to the 18th century - has been purchased by Bernadette McDonald as the new headquarters of her solicitors' practice, BMD Law. Bernadette is keen to retain the character of the building, and to restore some of the interior features that have been hidden for years as a result of past 'modernisation'. But it will no longer function as a pub. We hope to publish a more detailed account of her plans in the next issue of the Newsletter.
