THE ROSE GARDEN:
HELP NEEDED

The Friends of the Rose Garden continue to do a great job in the High Street. On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings they would appreciate extra help with litter-picking, dead-heading, planting, weeding, hoeing, brushing-up ... anything, in fact, that will enable them to keep on top of the work needed. Tools are provided.
If you'd like to lend a hand, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with the Friends.

THANKS TO TESCO

On 29th June our Chairman Robert Zatz 'cut the tape' to officially open the new Tesco Express store on the corner of High Street and Prince Alfred Road. Other Committee members were there to receive a £500 donation, which will go towards our Heritage Plaques project. Jason the store manager explained that he was especially grateful to the Wavertree Society - because he had decided to apply for the job after reading about the plans for the store in our Newsletter.

Above: Wavertree Society Committee members Cyril Fell, Brenda Hoatson, Mike Chitty, Colin Pyle, Audrey Wood and Robert Zatz receive the cheque from store manager Jason McCormack-Gray.
