A.G.M. REMINDER
Our Annual General Meeting will take place on
SUNDAY 23rd OCTOBER, starting at 2 p.m., in the
Olive Mount Community Centre.
We look forward to seeing members old and new at this important event, when the Society's progress will be reviewed and a Committee will be elected for the coming year. Prospective members are also welcome to attend.
As this is our 40th A.G.M., Mike Chitty will be giving a light-hearted illustrated talk on the History of the Wavertree Society when the 'business' part of the meeting is over.

WAR MEMORIALS SURVEY
Civic Voice - the national campaigning and umbrella organisation for civic societies like ours - is pressing for the recording and restoration of memorials from World War 1. They are seeking local volunteers to help with the project, and on WEDNESDAY 7th DECEMBER a 'War Memorials Condition Survey Workshop' will be held in Wavertree, with training being given to participants in assessing the condition
of war memorials.
The event will be held at the Blue Coat School in Church Road, L15 9EE, from 12.30 until 3 p.m. (The venue is the Blundell Suite, which is accessed via the Clock Tower entrance). There is no charge, but places must be booked in advance via the Eventbrite website (see link below). Please contact Ben Murray at Civic Voice for further details: phone 0151 707 4319 or email ben.murray@civicvoice.org.uk

WAVERTREE ROSE GARDEN
The Friends of the Rose Garden need new volunteers who can spare the odd hour to help to maintain the garden on the High Street. (It is situated next to the Rose Pub). If you are willing to help please visit the garden on a Wednesday morning. The Friends are there every week from 9.30am until 11.00am.
You don't need any previous gardening experience - just your enthusiasm to keep this green oasis and place of tranquility in good condition for all to enjoy.
