NEWS FROM THE WAVERTREE SOCIETY (Nov.2017):

OUR NEW
WINTER NOTELETS

Colin Pyle is a local artist, who also happens to be a member of the Wavertree Society's Committee. He has been designing his own Christmas cards for several years now, and his striking black-and-white drawings of fanciful snow scenes - complete with his trademark snowmen in various Wavertree locations - are always much admired. Now Colin has allowed us to use four of his drawings - depicting the Coffee House, St Mary's Church, the Monks' Well and the Edinburgh pub - on C6 size cards (with the inside left blank for your own message).

We are selling them at £3 for the set of four, complete with envelopes, or £5 for two sets (postage & packing extra).

DON'T FORGET
OUR CALENDAR

'Old Wavertree in Colour' is once again the theme for 2018, with an Edwardian postcard photo of the Picton Clock on the front cover and 12 other local scenes inside: Fieldway, the Old Police Station, Smithdown Road, 47-51 High Street, the Mystery, a Floral Queen Festival, Hope Cottage, the Abbey Cinema, the Lamb Inn, the Monks' Well, Rose Cottage and Wavertree Nook Road. The size is, as usual, 42cm high x 15cm wide, spiral bound for hanging.

Our thanks go to BMD:LAW of The Lamb for so generously sponsoring the printing. The price of the Calendar at our meeting on 22nd November will be £3 (card envelope 50p or paper envelope 20p extra if needed).
