OUR NEW COASTERS
Over the next few months we hope to offer for sale a range of merchandise featuring the colourful and very distinctive artwork of Desmond Ross. Available now are four coasters (square images encapsulated in clear plastic) depicting former Wavertree Cinemas: the Abbey, the Cameo, the Grand and the Magnet. The price is £1.25 each (or £4 for the complete set of 4) and they will be on sale at all our future meetings and events. Please email us if you wish to purchase by mail order.

A HERITAGE ACTION ZONE
FOR WAVERTREE?

The government (through Historic England, formerly known as English Heritage) has announced a £44 million programme of grant aid to help the revitalisation of Britain's High Streets. Applications are invited from local Councils and other bodies in respect of High Streets that are also Conservation Areas. Only two of Liverpool's District Centres - Wavertree and Woolton - fall into this category, and we hope that the City Council will consider submitting a bid. Councillor Clare McIntyre has already expressed her support for this.
