NEWS FROM THE WAVERTREE SOCIETY (Apr.2000):

WHO WANTS LIVERPOOL?
The Work of the Liverpool Film Office

An illustrated talk on Wednesday 26th April, starting at 7.30 p.m., at
Wavertree Library, Picton Road, L15.

Have you ever wondered how buildings and streets in Liverpool came to be used in films set in London, New York, Boston, Moscow (left), etc., etc.? For example, how did David Copperfield come to be lodging in Falkner Street in the T.V. dramatisation last Christmas?

The Liverpool Film Office is responsible for marketing Liverpool locations to television and film companies who cannot find suitable sites in the 'real' places. On April 26th, members and friends of the Wavertree Society will hear how this is done. Don't miss this fascinating talk!
