NEWS FROM THE WAVERTREE SOCIETY (Sept. 2000)

Your chance to STEP INSIDE ...
The Blue Coat School, Church Road, Liverpool 15.
We are grateful to the trustees of the Liverpool Blue Coat Foundation for allowing visitors to view their magnificent Edwardian premises. Between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on SUNDAY 17th SEPTEMBER, the Chapel (pictured right), the Board Room and other parts of the school will be on show, and refreshments will be available.
The Lock-up, Childwall Road, Liverpool 15.
Also on Sunday 17th September, the Wavertree Society will be opening this historic building (pictured right) between 12 noon and 4 p.m.  Inside will be an exhibition of paintings by members of the Sandown Art Group: mostly local views, and some of them for sale. Outside will be a Wavertree Society recruiting and sales table (see 'Items for Sale' overleaf). Florence Gersten will also lead walking tours of the village at intervals, as requested.
These events form part of the Civic Trust's HERITAGE OPEN DAYS scheme.
