Forthcoming Meetings

CAPITAL OF CULTURE:
PLANS, PROGRESS AND
PARTICIPATION

A talk by NEIL PETERSON

on WEDNESDAY 28th SEPTEMBER, 7.30 pm
at the Farriers (rear of Wavertree Town Hall),
High Street/Chesnut Grove, L15

Neil Peterson, 'Head of Liverpool Welcome' at the Culture Company, will tell us how the plans for 2008 are shaping up. Neil's talk will cover the structure and organisation of the Liverpool Culture Company, its achievements to date, and plans for the themed years 2006-2008 and beyond. The talk will also look at the ways in which local people and organisations can get involved, particularly through the Volunteering programme which Neil is leading and which has recently been launched.

Admission free - ALL WELCOME

Notice of ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The 29th A.G.M. of the Wavertree Society will be held at
Our Lady's Parish Centre, Chesnut Grove, Liverpool L15,
on Sunday 23rd October 2005 starting at 2.15 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive reports on the year's activities,
approve the Accounts, elect a Committee for the coming year,
and allow members to have their say on local issues.
In addition to the usual 'business' part of the meeting, we hope this year
to have a wide-ranging discussion on future activities - including the
possibility of a 'Wavertree in Bloom' event similar to those recently
(and very successfully) launched in Woolton and Gateacre.
