HOME SECURITY AND
COMMUNITY SAFETY
A talk and discussion at the
Olive Mount Community Centre
on Wednesday 22nd November
at 7.30 pm
The speaker at our November meeting will be Lol Jefferies, Crime Prevention and Architectural Liaison Officer at Belle Vale Police Station. He will give a 20 minute presentation on home security issues, basic insurance requirements, personal safety when out and about and other relevant community matters including Home Watch, leaving plenty of time for an 'open forum' question and answer session.
The talk will take place at what has now become our regular venue: the bright and comfortable Olive Mount Community Centre just off Childwall Road. (Car access is from Thingwall Road, via Edgewell Drive).

Our A.G.M. … Again
Unfortunately we were three members short of a quorum on 22nd October, when the Society's 30th Annual General Meeting was meant to have taken place. We still had a very useful discussion on the Wavertree Street Audit, and our priorities for the future, but we were not able to ratify the Accounts, receive the Chairman's report or elect a Committee for the coming year.
Our Constitution specifies that there must be 20 members personally present for these things to take place - and also that our Executive Committee must comprise at least 10 members. Currently we have only 8 nominations for election to the Committee, so it is essential - in order for the Wavertree Society to continue to function - that more people come forward and volunteer to join us. With over 380 paid-up members on our mailing list, our membership is flourishing, so please don't be shy; let us know as soon as possible if you are willing to serve on the Committee. (Meetings currently take place at
7.30 pm on the first Thursday of every month).
The reconvened A.G.M. will take place on WEDNESDAY 22nd NOVEMBER, at Olive Mount Community Centre,
immediately after the Home Security meeting. The anticipated start time of the A.G.M. business is about 8.45 pm and we expect to be finished
by 9.15 pm.
