Neil Peterson is the Liverpool Culture Company's 'Head of Liverpool Welcome'. He came to talk to us in September 2005, shortly after he took up the post. At the time, he suggested that we invite him back after a year or so, for an update on how the plans for 2008 were progressing. This we have now done. Mr Peterson's presentation will take place on Wednesday 30th May, starting at 7.30 p.m.
Much has happened since 2005, and we are expecting a lively question-and-answer session. The talk and discussion will, of course, also cover the events planned for the remainder of Liverpool's 800th birthday year, 2007.

Following a series of 'city' trips - to Nottingham, Leeds and Bradford - we have decided on a change of direction this year. Our chosen destination is the Shropshire county town of Shrewsbury, where the Shrewsbury Civic Society will be our hosts and will show us the sights of their historic and picturesque town.
Shrewsbury has many medieval, Georgian and more recent features of interest, and is also a bustling shopping centre. We will make sure that there is time for people to explore the town on their own if they wish.
Once again the cost will be £10 per person, payable in advance (and non-refundable). The coach will leave Wavertree at about 8.45 a.m., and will also pick up in Gateacre.
