Ron Martin is Treasurer of the Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society. He will be showing and giving a commentary on two amateur cine films - each about 25 minutes long - taken during the final years of operation of the city's overhead railway and trams.
The Liverpool Overhead Railway film dates from 1955-56, while the other film consists of short clips of trams on a variety of routes in 1953-57. Not only are the trams themselves of interest, but the everyday street scenes of buildings, cars and pedestrians in many different parts of the city will no doubt bring back many memories.
