Steve Binns MBE is Liverpool's community historian. He has been well-known around the city for many years for his guided tours of civic buildings, and his wide knowledge of Liverpool's 800 years of history. Steve has agreed to talk to us on 21st March about an event that took place almost exactly 100 years ago: the sinking of the Titanic.

The new boat The Floating Grace is, at long last, ready to take passengers on cruises along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. We have arranged a special trip for 50 of our members on Wednesday 16th May, starting from Mann Island at 1.30 pm. The cruise - complete with live commentary - will take us past the Pier Head, northwards towards Stanley Dock, and back, finishing we expect by 4.30. Refreshments will be on sale on board the boat.
Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. For booking details see your printed Newsletter, or email us.
(Please note that this trip is restricted to Wavertree Society members only).
