NEWS FROM THE WAVERTREE SOCIETY (Mar.2012):

PLAQUES IN PLACE
We are pleased to announce that the first three of our green Heritage Plaques were installed on Friday 9th March. They are on the Lock-up, the Monks' Well and the Picton Clock Tower, and the aim is to draw attention to Wavertree's wealth of local history. Another eight plaques will follow, we hope, over the next few months.

The plaques were manufactured locally - by Photocast Products Ltd of Speke - and paid for by the Wavertree Society using some of the proceeds from our book Discovering Historic Wavertree.

TOWN HALL LATEST
The closing date for comments on the T J Thomas Estates Group planning and listed building consent application (see last

After discussing the proposals, our Committee wrote to the Planning Department stating our full support for the renovation and conversion scheme.
