NEWS FROM THE WAVERTREE SOCIETY (Jun.2021):

Our next meeting:
A Talk (on Zoom) by
Helena Smart and
Sarah Conroy
on Wednesday 30th June
at 7.30pm

An introduction to
LIVERPOOL
CENTRAL LIBRARY'S
ARCHIVE COLLECTIONS

Helena Smart is the Archivist at the Liverpool Record Office, which is located within the Central Library in William Brown Street, and has worked there for over twenty years. Helena will offer a brief guide to some of the archive collections housed at the Library, how to access them and some of the other services offered by the archive team. Helena will also highlight some of the collections which are particularly important for researching the history of Wavertree.

Sarah Conroy has worked in the archive since 2019. Having embarked on researching her own family tree, she will offer a beginner's guide to useful sources which are available in the archive. You will be shown where to start by looking at the basic nuts and bolts of family research such as Birth, Marriage and Death Records. Sarah will also look at the less conventional family history sources, which may not immediately seem relevant, but can really add character and richness to a person's family history and will perhaps be useful to more advanced researchers.

This is a 'members only' meeting. If you attended any of our previous Zoom events, you'll automatically be sent a link for this one a couple of days beforehand. Otherwise, if you're a Wavertree Society member with internet access and you wish to attend the talk, please send an email to this address
and we'll add you to the list (and send you guidance notes, in case you're new to Zoom).
