History on the Line – Liverpool & Manchester Railway. Eric Shenton, trustee of the Edge Hill Railway Trust (1970-1982) and the Liverpool & Manchester Railway Trust (founded 2015) presents an illustrated talk about the Lost Railway Heritage of Liverpool. Eric describes how the World`s first inter-city and freight railway came about. The sites at Liverpool- The Wapping Tunnel. The Edge Hill Engine Station, Crown Street passenger Station and the present Edge Hill and Lime Street stations ( 1836) are discussed. together with the LMRT suggestions of how the derelict cutting at Edge Hill could be developed as a future attraction.
