Local journalist and historian, Peter Elson will bring us the true story of the sinking of this famous ship. RMS Lusitania, the world’s first superliner and Cunard Line’s ocean greyhound with her sister ship Mauretania, were two of the most famous passenger ships in the world and the toast of their Liverpool home-port.
So why was only Lusitania allowed to continue in civilian service between Liverpool and New York during the First World War when Germany had declared a war zone around the British Isles and Ireland?
The meeting will be held on Sunday 21st January 2024 at the Olive Mount Community Centre, Edgewell Drive, L15 8GG Starting at 2pm, finishing at 4pm
